Barbara C. Cross and Edward Cross founded Frazier Income Tax Services 24 years ago.  Barbara says her interest in income taxes actually began in 1977.  She completed income tax returns from her home office, by hand and free of charge for over 15 years.  Barbara shared that she quickly started serving about 100 of her family members, friends, and community members.  Because of the increase in demand, Barbara found a software to assist her in speeding up the data entry process.  When the IRS began accepting electronic income tax returns, Barbara continued to complete income tax returns at home, print them out and refer those who wanted to electronically file to a company that had the capacity to do so.  Barbara later began working as a tax preparer with another local business for 6 years.  Barbara said that so many people came in requesting her to prepare their income taxes that she and her husband, Edward, decided to go into business themselves. Barbara and Edward founded Frazier Income Tax Services and employed family and friends. Barbara became the Principal Tax Specialist, and provided consultation to all of her clients. Because Barbara loved to help  people, her consultation and referrals did not end with income tax preparation. Barbara has impacted so many people through her services.  Her clientele increased to over 300 individuals and families. Barbara continues to work as the Principal Tax Specialist. Currently, her daughter, Reshonda, oversees the operations of the business.

Reshonda Cross a native of Decatur, Alabama is the daughter of Edward and Barbara Cross.  She is a graduate of Decatur High School, earned her BA in Criminal Justice/Youth Services from Auburn University, and her MA in Professional Counseling from Amridge University.  She has worked toward an education doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision.
 
Reshonda is currently working toward licensure to provide financial consultation as well. She has worked in the social service and behavioral science field for over 22 years.  She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Alabama, and her work services the north west region of the state. She grew up in a home where always being available to help someone was the key, and she often jokes about never growing up alone.  Reshonda remembers income tax season every year as their home had constant visitors enjoying a snack of some sort while her mom completed their income tax return. Reshonda has helped her mom and father with Frazier Income Tax Services since it was founded 22 years ago.  Reshonda’s services were limited to weekends from college, and time when she was not working. Reshonda recently moved back to Decatur, Alabama and has taken on the role of CEO of Frazier Income Tax Services.
